  • What makes Kritikala a sustainable fashion and lifestyle brand?

    Kritikala is a social enterprise that works on the principle of fair wages and fair prices to all people in our supply chain. All our annual profits are shared amongst the production team members and no surplus is taken out of the enterprise. We use local handmade textiles and do our production in small units close to the homes of our workers so they can walk to work. Our products are often multi functional to ensure maximum usage out of them and we utilise every last scrap that comes out of the unit. The name Kritikala is an adaptation of Kriti Social Initiatives, which is the non-profit that powers the organisation and provides free skills training to hundreds of women every year as well as providing scholarships to over 400 children.

  • Do you customise products?

    While we would love to take-on all your ideas into creating our products, it is not viable for us to do so for single pieces. We are willing to customise new designs of bags or garments for bulk orders of fifty pieces or more. There is a lot of effort that goes into the product design process and products often don’t turn out the way we visualised them on the first attempt. But please do write in to us with your ideas and you may see them executed within a few months on our website!

  • How should I care for my Kritikala products?

    The specific wash care instructions are given in the product description section. In general, kalamkari fabrics do not run colour and can be machine washed. However, since kalamkari printing is done using a vegetable dye based block print, it fades by exposure to direct sunlight and use of chemical detergents. So, wash using a mild detergent or an old fashioned oil based laundry bar and dry on the reverse and in the shade.

    Ikat fabrics can run colour, especially the reds, so please hand wash them separately for the first time so you can check the colour fastness of the particular product you have bought.

  • How will I know when my order is confirmed and shipped?

    You will receive an email from us confirming your order. We dispatch the order within 2-3 business days. Once the order is dispatched, we will send you an email with the courier tracking details.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

    If you cancel your order before your product has been shipped, we will refund you the entire amount paid within 4-5 working days from the date of cancellation.

    If you have to cancel an order after it has been shipped to you, please email us at within 48 hours of receipt of product. You may have to bear the cost of the outward and return courier charges when we refund the payment amount.

  • What is your product return policy?

    If you think, you have received the product in a bad condition or if the packaging is tampered with or damaged before delivery, please refuse to accept the package and return the package to the delivery person. Also, please email us at mentioning your Order ID.

    If you want to return the product after it has been delivered, please send us an email at within 48 hours of receipt of the product. We will arrange for a return pick up of the product. The product needs to be returned with the original packing and the original invoice also included. The refund amount will be processed within 4-5 days of the store team confirming receipt of product in good condition.

  • What if I don’t receive my order within 10-12 days?

    We email you the Courier tracking number as soon as your order is shipped. You can easily track the status of your shipment through the provided website and tracking number. Alternately, you can email us at or call us on 88976 91147. We assume ownership of the shipment arriving at your doorstep in good condition, and will issue you a refund if the product gets lost or damaged in transit.

  • Is the product identical to the one shown in the image?

    The product you order for is identical to the one that is displayed on our website. While we make our best efforts to accurately depict what the products look like, please do allow for minor variations in colour due to factors such as lighting, camera, and resolution of your screen. Please also make some allowance for hand crafted textiles and hand made products that may have piece to piece variations.

  • Do you ship internationally?

    We ship internationally using the India Speed Post service. The international shipping charges will be automatically applied if you enter a non-Indian address. A shipping cost of Rs 1000 per item is applied. If you are interested to purchase multiple items and have them shipped to the USA, then please write to us and we will quote a revised shipping price. Payment can then be done offline through a custom payment link that will be provided for your order.
